Obituary of Miguel Anthony Venancio

Miguel Anthony Venancio, 33, of Hackensack, went to be with the Lord on February 14, 2016. Miguel was born in Elmhurst, NY on June 26, 1982, he is the treasured son of Miguel Venancio and Rosa (Fernandez) Palermo and step-son of Thomas Palermo. Miguel was the loving husband of Rebecca Grubb, the dear brother of Ericka Venancio and Godfather of Josiah Venancio. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Miguel is the cherished son-in-law of Donald and Marcie Grubb and brother-in-law of Danielle and Mark Miller. In his spare time, Miguel was an avid sports fan with a dedication to the Mets, Jets, and Nets. He was so proud when his beloved Mets made it to the World Series this past season. He also enjoyed listening to hip hop music, often watching videos and reading articles on new upcoming artists. He was a long time Boxing enthusiast and gym fanatic. Along with his wife, Rebecca, they attended many concerts and Broadway shows together. Miguel was a true fighter in his 7 year battle against cancer and inspired those around him with his positive attitude and determination. Miguel will always be remembered for his warm smile and his generous and giving spirit. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00am at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, 381 Grand St., Paterson, NJ 07505. Cremation will be private by the request of the family.
