Obituary of Charles Jaworski

Charles Jaworski, 89, of Woodland Park, passed away on March 1, 2016. Charles was born on August 14, 1926 in Wayne, NJ to the late Karol and Mary (Kraszniewski)Jaworski. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1943 to 1946 earning the rank of Pharmacist's Mate Second Class. He served onboard 11 vessels and earned the Victory, American Theatre, and Asiatic Pacific Medals as well as the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. Later, Charles "Charlie" was a radio and television repair serviceman as well as a licensed Ham radio operator. He retired from RCA/GE after many years of service. Charlie was a volunteer for the West Paterson Fire Co. #3 on Rifle Camp Rd. as well as a parishioner at St. Bonaventure Church in Paterson. In his spare time, Charlie was an avid river fisherman and enjoyed taking trips to Cape May with his beloved wife. He was the adored husband of Helen (Kukel) Jaworski for over 66 years; the treasured father of Patricia Leporini and her husband Davide, Charles D. Jaworski and his wife Patrizia, and Nancy Lauber and her husband Glenn; and the cherished grandfather of Rosa, Christina, David, Stephanie, Robert, Daniel and Sarah. He was the dear brother-in-law to Philip "Googie" Mizzone, Sr. and to Michael Kukel and his wife Fran. He was predeceased by his sister Nelly Mizzone and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 &7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday at 10:15am at St. Bonaventure Church, 174 Ramsey St., Paterson. Guests may arrive at the funeral home at 9:15am.
