Obituary of Emma Cece

Emma Cece (nee Iozzia), 97, of Wanaque, formerly of Paterson, passed away on March 28, 2016. She was born in Paterson to the late Frances and Carmela (Swizzo) Iozzia. Emma earned her certification by the Civil Service and worked for many years as a supervisor for Workman’s Compensation in Paterson. She was a devoted parishioner at Our Lady of Pompeii Church where she was also a member of the Seniors Group and the Rosary Society. She also served as President of the Mother’s Club at St. Bonaventure Church in Paterson. She was the beloved wife of the late Leo Joseph Cece for nearly 75 years before his passing in 2013. She was the cherished mother of Judith Treloar, Barbara Costagliola and the late Patricia Urgo and her husband Victor. She was the adored grandmother of James Treloar and his wife Michelle, Jill Ann Hutton, Jennifer Plumley and her husband Jason, Ryan Urgo and his wife Nicole, Lee Urgo and his fiancé Katie, Dustin Urgo and his wife Olivia, Tricia Urgo, Luke Costagliola and his wife Briana, Joshua Costagliola and his wife Amanda and Breanne Whittemore and her husband Gabe and the great-grandmother of Alexandra, Caleb, and Christian Treloar, Skye Hutton, Abigail, Maxwell and Allison Plumley, Sophia and Matteo Urgo, Lola Urgo, Lia Rose and Emma Costagliola and Gianna Whittemore. She was predeceased by her sisters Patricia Dower and Mafalda Iozzia and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered Wednesday at 9:30am at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 70 Murray Ave., Paterson, NJ. Guests may arrive at the funeral home at 8:30am. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.
