Obituary of Antonino "Tony" Colombo

Antonino “Tony” Colombo, 79, of Woodland Park, passed away on March 22, 2016 while visiting family and celebrating Easter in Italy. Tony was born in Palermo, Italy on January 10, 1937 to the late Vincenzo and Francesca (Sasso) Colombo. He immigrated to America in 1970 settling in Woodland Park. Before retiring, Tony operated Colombo Carpentry for many years. He was the beloved husband of Fina (Lo Cascio) Colombo for over 56 years; the adored father of Enzo Colombo and his wife Sharon, Franca Matranga and her husband Pino, Grace Colombo, Giuseppe Colombo and his wife Anna and Salvo Colombo; and the treasured grandfather of Tonino, Aldo, Rosi, Fina, Gianna, Valentina, Frankie, Alexa, Bella, Giuseppe, Nino and Jordan and the great grandfather of Anthony, Gia, Brandon, Greyson and Savannah. He was predeceased by his brother Giuseppe Colombo. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family in Italy. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Monday at 10:15am at St. Bonaventure Church, 174 Ramsey St., Paterson, NJ. Entombment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
