Obituary of Elsa G Rivas

Elsa G. Rivas, 86, of Prospect Park, passed away on April 9, 2016. She was born on April 2, 1930 in Trujillo, Peru to the late Raul and Antonia (Urbina) Vasquez. Elsa was a loving and devoted homemaker to her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of Nazario Rivas; the adored mother of Antonia Sangama and her husband Enrique, Soledad Garcia and her husband Onesimo, Raul Rivas, Margarita and her husband Bernardo Peña, Cecilia Rivas, Manuel Rivas, Beatriz Rodriquez and the late Jose Rivas; and the cherished grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was the dear sister of Manuel, Rosa and Zoila and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday at 9:30am at St. Gerard Majella Church, 501 West Broadway, Paterson. Guests may gather at Santangelo Funeral Home at 8:30am. Burial will follow the Mass at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
