Obituary of Rudolph J D'Onofrio
Rudolph J. D'Onofrio, 89, of Totowa, formerly of Old Bridge, passed away on June 25, 2016. Rudy was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Francis and Antoinette (Siletti) D'Onofrio.
Before retiring, he worked as a buyer for Con Edison in NYC. Rudy was a devoted Catholic who was a member of St. Ambrose Church in Old Bridge where he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. A talented singer, Rudy enjoyed performing in the church choirs in Brooklyn, Old Bridge and most recently at his residence in Totowa. He was also an avid sports fan for the Rangers, Yankees, Giants and Knicks.
Rudy was the beloved husband of Rosemary (Bierster) D'Onofrio; the adored father of Ann McFadden and her husband John of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Mary Tieto and her husband David of Ocean Twsp, NJ, Loretta Huss and her husband Jody of Wall, NJ, Peggy Klotz and her husband Richard of Freehold, NJ and Joann Baroni and her husband Christopher of Spotswood, NJ; and the cherished grandfather of 12 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Mike and his wife Josie and Tony and his wife Lucienne D'Onofrio and his nephew John and is also survived by many brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3-5 & 7-9pm at St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly, 140 Shepherd Lane, Totowa. A funeral Mass will be offered Thursday at 11am at St. Joseph's Home. Burial will follow at Forest Green Park Cemetery, 535 Texas Rd., Marlboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly.
