Obituary of Elizabeth "Betty" Minardi

Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Rosa) Minardi, 83, of Woodland Park, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2016 surrounded by her family. Betty was born in Lyndhurst, NJ on November 20, 1932 to the late Joseph and Mary (Ferrara) Rosa. Betty played an active role at the Minardi family bakery in Paterson. She was also a parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii Church in Paterson. Betty’s kind and generous spirit was exemplified in her charitable gifts to a number of organizations. She was the beloved wife of Thomas C. Minardi since 1955; the adored mother of Nancy Minardi Riggio, Mary Ann Minardi Hoogerheyde and her husband Randy, and Thomas Minardi and his wife Maria, the cherished grandmother of Alexandra Bottino and her husband Bill, Cristina and Victoria Riggio, Christian, Jenna and Justin Hoogerhede, Thomas Minardi, Lauren Minardi Inserra and her husband Lawrence and Jacqueline Minardi and the great grandmother of Cecilia Bottino. Betty is also survived by her brother Joseph Rosa as well as many nieces and nephews and was predeceased by 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday at 10:15am at St. Bonaventure Church, 174 Ramsey St., Paterson, NJ. Guests may arrive at the funeral home at 9:15am. Cremation will be private by the request of the family.
