Obituary of Giuseppa Garzia

Giuseppa Garzia (nee Mandara), 73, of Paterson, passed away on August 22, 2016. She was born on January 20, 1943 in Santa Croce, Sicily, Italy to the late Antonio and Francesca (Mania) Mandara. Giuseppa was a seamstress in various factories in Paterson where she often worked along with her husband. More recently, she enjoyed working as an aid at Memorial Day Care in Paterson and more importantly spending time with her treasured grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of Giuseppe Garzia; the cherished mother of Maria "Giannella" Brown and her husband Seth and Patrizia Martorana and her husband Gregg; and the adored grandmother of Sophia Brown and Giancarlo, Gabriella, and Giuliana Martorana. She was the dear sister of Rosalia Cassarino and the late Massina Giavatto, Giovanni Mandara, Guglielmma Criscione, and Angelo Mandara. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Friday at 9am at St. Bonaventure Church, 174 Ramsey St., Paterson. Entombment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.
