Obituary of Delia Cortez

Delia Cortez (nee Castillo), 91, of Paterson, passed away on November 19, 2016, Delia was born in Tarma, Peru on October 16, 1925 to the late Fortunato and Sofia (Cangalaya) Castillo. Delia was a loving homemaker to her family and was also the owner of La Tia Delia Restaurant. She was the beloved partner of Jorge Cortez; the dear mother of Danial Sosa and his wife Mirtha, Moises Cortez, Elizabeth Verastegui and her husband Elias, Pilar Champa and her husband Luis and the late Gladys Martinez; and the adored grandmother of Ursula, Elias A. and Igor E. Mejia, Devora, Delia, Pilar and Luis Champa and Alex and Rony Sosa. Visitation will be Monday from 5-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park. A funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday at 9am at St. Bonaventure Church, 174 Ramsey St., Paterson, NJ. Guests may arrive at the funeral home at 8am. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Paterson.
