Obituary of Nettie VanderWoude

Nettie VanderWoude (nee Kimball), 85, of Toms River, formerly of West Paterson and Passaic, passed away on June 20, 2013. Nettie was born in Passaic, NJ to the late Raymond and Mary Kimball. She worked for many years as a switchboard operator, most recently at JVC in Elmwood Park. Nettie was a member and former president of the American Legion Post #238. She will always be remembered for spending time reading and enjoying the shore and especially for spending time with her grandchildren. Nettie was the beloved wife of the late George. She was the adored mother of Susan VanderWoude-Boskoff and her husband Ken, Raymond VanderWoude and his wife Patty, Jean Petrillo and her husband Robert, and George VanderWoude and his wife Patricia. She was the cherished grandmother of Nelson, Doreen, Calvin, Laura, Joseph, Edward, and Shelby. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Fraser and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister AnnaMae Lewis. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday at 10:00am at St. John Kanty, 49 Speer Ave., Clifton. Private cremation will follow.
