Obituary of Richard H. Reesman

Richard Reesman, 94, of Totowa, passed away on April 2, 2017. Richard was born on July 30, 1922 in Providence, Rhode Island to Bertha Reesman (née Staff) and Thomas Homer Reesman. Richard was a long time resident of Paterson and also resided in Cherry Hill, NJ. In his final years, he resided at St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly in Totowa. Richard served in the US Army 1942-1946 and attained the rank of Sergeant in the Corps of Engineers with service in the Pacific. He worked as an artesian well driller and later as superintendent of the Park East Terrace Cooperative Apartments in Paterson. Richard was a talented amateur artist who painted in oils. Richard was the cherished husband of the late Theda Reesman née Diello. Richard and Theda were married for 68 years. He is the beloved father of Gale Reesman Parrillo and her husband Joseph. Papa is the loving grandfather of Nicholas Parrillo and Jenny Chou, parents of his great granddaughter, Lena. Uncle Dick has many fond nieces and nephews of the Diello family. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-8pm at St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly, Little Sisters of the Poor, 140 Shepherd Ln., Totowa, NJ 07512. A funeral Mass will be offered on Monday at 10:30am at St. Joseph's Home followed by entombment at Calvary Cemetery in Paterson.
