Obituary of Rose Wolek

Mrs. Rose Wolek, daughter of the late Alfonso and Concetta Pesaturo, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013. Mrs. Wolek was born March 10, 1915 and lived on Hoxey Street in Paterson, NJ where the Ferazzano family originally settled. In 1950, she married Walter and moved with her family to Grove Street in Elmwood Park, NJ where they lived for 40 years. After Walter's passing, she moved to Concord, NC in 1994 and was under the watchful eye of her daughter and family. For the last 9 months she resided at Horizon Bay Assisted Living Center, also in Concord, NC where she peacefully passed away at age 98. Mrs. Wolek had a varied career starting at Lazaras Bread, moving on to the Hercules Filter Company, then to the Susquehanna Railroad, and retiring in her 70's after supervising an inventory staff for a large department store. Rose was predeceased by her husband, Walter S. Wolek; her brother Peter; and sisters Clementine (Dena) and Minnie. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Stanley and Karan Wolek of Pompton Plains, NJ and her daughter, Connie M. Kaiser of Concord, NC. Mrs. Wolek is also survived by her nephew and his wife, Christopher and Cathy Joyce; 7 grandchildren: Jason and Dana Wolek, Dr. Beth Wolek, Daryl and Betsy Kaiser, Becky and Mitch Lazaro; 2 grandnieces, Shelly and Emily Joyce; and 1 grandnephew, Patrick Joyce. Funeral arrangements by Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Avenue, Woodland Park (West Paterson), New Jersey. Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013 from 7-9 PM. A funeral ceremony will be held at Santangelo Funeral Home at 9:30AM on Saturday, July 13, 2013. Interment and graveside service will immediately follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.
