Obituary of Elizabeth Ann West

Elizabeth Ann West, “Lizzy” , (nee Platt), 89, of Totowa, passed away on July 12, 2017. Lizzy was born in Paterson on October 3, 1927 to the late Fred and Catherine (Erlewein) Platt. Before retiring, Lizzy worked at Teshon’s Factory in Paterson. She was a proud military wife and a Bingo fanatic. 

Lizzy was the beloved wife of the late William James; the adored mother of Donald West, William James West, Jr. and his wife Ginny, Kathleen Rumsby and her husband Robert, Sr. and John Joseph West, Sr. and his wife Grisel; the cherished grandmother of Donald, Jr., Dawn, Daniel, David, Denise, Mary, Christina, Robert, Jr., Mandy, John Joseph, Jr. and Jared West and the great grandmother of 9 great children. She is also survived by her sisters Lois and Irene Platt, Dorothy Favre, Helen Ryan, and Catherine Spence.

She was predeceased by her brothers Johnny, Fred and Baby Paul Platt and by her sisters Mary Klicker (twin) and Norma Hargrove and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday at 9:30am at St. James of the Marches Church, 410 St. James Pl., Totowa, NJ. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.
