Obituary of Salvatore Crocco

Salvatore Crocco, 91, of Little Falls, passed away in his home on October 17, 2017. He was born on July 17, 1926 in Acri, Cosenza , Italy to the late Francesco and Aurelia (Gencarelli) Crocco. Salvatore served in the Italian military, immigrated to America in 1971 and worked at East Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clifton until 1986. He was the beloved husband of Giorgina (Gencarelli) Crocco for 64 years and the cherished father of Rosaria Gencarelli and her husband Giuseppe, Adelina Gencarelli and her husband Salvatore and Francesco Crocco and his wife Yvet. He was the adored grandfather of Marisa LaRosa and her husband Carmine, Enzo Gencarelli and his wife Francesca, Salvatore Gencarelli and his wife Sandra, Elvira Gencarelli and her husband Gennaro, Pasquale "Oscar" Gencarelli and his wife Vera and Jessica, Frank and Gabriella Crocco and the great grandfather of Gabriella, Brianna and Christopher LaRosa and Alissa, Joseph, Arianna, Nicholas, Giovanni, Matteo, Daniela, Massimo, Samuel, Adam and Gianna Gencarelli. Salvatore was predeceased by several siblings and is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Salvatore especially enjoyed hunting, gardening, and playing cards and he was a very talented handyman.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. Guests may arrive at the funeral home at 9am on Thursday before a 10am funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Holy Angels Church, 465 Main St., Little Falls, NJ. Entombment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
