Obituary of Victoria Mongiardo

Victoria Mongiardo, (nee Nestico), 97, of Woodland Park, passed away on November 30, 2017. She was born in St. Andrea, Calabria, Italy on November 25, 1920 to the late Nicola and Marianna (Procopio) Nestico. Before her retirement, Victoria worked for many years as a seamstress for the ILGWU in Paterson.

Victoria was the beloved wife of the late Frank Mongiardo. She was the cherished mother of James Mongiardo and his wife Judy, Marion Geddes, and Steven Mongiardo and his wife Deborah. She was the adored grandmother of Joanna Mongiardo Coogan and her husband Dreux, Christina Brisson and her husband Brandt, Karey Geddes, Aimee Hopper and her husband John, Brian Geddes, Leslie Mastrogiovanni and her husband Joseph, Stephen Mongiardo and his wife Gunel Malakova, David Mongiardo and James Mongiardo and she was the great grandmother of Luke Coogan, Jack and Dana Brisson, Kathryn Geddes, Daniel and Vittoria Hopper, and Jake and Emma Mastrogiovanni. She was the dear sister of Catherine Rando and aunt of James and Nicholas Rando and Michele Rando-Wan.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3-7pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Monday at 10:15am at St. Bonaventure Church, 174 Ramsey St., Paterson. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Bonaventure Church.
