Obituary of Philomena "Mae" Spinoso

Philomena "Mae" Spinoso (nee Cropanese), 95, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2017. She was born in West Paterson on October 27, 1922 to the late Joseph and Rose (Anania) Cropanese. In addition to her role as a loving homemaker to her family, Mae worked in retail sales for many years before her retirement. Mae was a former parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii Church in Paterson before moving to Florida.

 

She was the beloved wife of the late Amato Spinoso (1998). Mae was the adored mother of Maria Giordano, Pasquale "Pat" Spinoso and his wife Mary Ann, and Benjamin "Ben" Spinoso and his wife Fe. She was the treasured grandmother of Gina Giordano, Jeanine Spinoso Kravis and her husband Brian, Kristin Spinoso, Jennifer, Ryan and Kathleen Tattam and Alison Spinoso and she was the cherished great-grandmother of Nicholas and Christian Schobel and Kaylee Kravis. Mae was the dear sister of Santo Cropanese and was predeceased by 4 brothers and 1 sister. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

 

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday at 10:00am at Our Lady of Pompei Church, 70 Murray Ave., Paterson, NJ. Guests tmay gather at Santangelo Funeral Home at 9:15am. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.
