Obituary of Arthur Koch

Arthur Koch, 90, of Woodland Park, passed away on March 31, 2018. Art was a native New Yorker and a proud veteran serving honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II. In 1953, he married Terry Dater and moved into a brand new home in West Paterson, NJ. He was a Chemical Operator at Hoffman LaRoche in Nutley NJ, retiring after 33 years of service. He was a member and past president of the Roche Camera Club and also enjoyed golf and fishing with his buddies from work. Art was an avid photographer and painter winning several local awards. Also an amateur astronomer, Art was a member of the North Jersey Astronomy Group operating out of the observatory in Garret Mountain Park. In his retirement, he and Terry traveled the United States. He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Angles parish in Little Falls for over 50 years. Art was predeceased by his wife Terry in 2010. He is survived by two daughters Barbara Koch and her husband Philip Calabro and Kathleen Koch. He also leaves his granddaughter Brooke and her husband Joey Ortiz, and their son, Art's Great Grandson, Evan Ortiz. Art is also survived by his dear friend Gert Miller. The family will receive friends on Thursday April 5th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.at Santangelo Funeral Home 635 McBride Avenue, Woodland Park. A funeral Mass will be offered at Our Lady of the Holy Anglels on Friday, April 6th at 11:30am. Guests may gather at Santangelo Funeral Home at 10:30am. Cremation will be private.
