Obituary of Carmella "Connie" Martorano

Carmella “Connie” Martorano (nee Paradiso), of Little Falls, passed away on July 12, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Martorano for 60 years until his passing in 2017. Family was the most important thing to Connie.  She was the adored mother of Lisa Turano Gerber and her husband Richard Gerber and Rob Martorano Jr. and his wife Eileen and the cherished grandmother of Bobby, Mark and Lauren Turano and Robby III and Tara Martorano. She was the dear sister of Frank Paradiso and his wife Michelle and Dorinda “Dee” Pontoriero and her husband Patrick and was predeceased by her brother John Paradiso and sister Anne Coletti. She was a dear sister-in-law to Helen (Martorano) Szeeley. Connie is also survived by many nieces and nephews, Godchildren and treasured friends.

Connie was a loving homemaker for her family and is remembered as an outstanding cook. In her spare time, she was an avid tennis player and golfer who proudly scored a hole in one. She also enjoyed playing Bridge and Buraco along with spending time at the Jersey Shore with family and friends. An active volunteer, Connie dedicated her time to various organizations and charities including LFAC, SARC and Our Lady of the Holy Angels Church in Little Falls where she was a devoted parishioner. Connie loved her time spent with her friends at the Woman’s Club of Little Falls where she served as Treasurer, Corresponding Secretary and a member of various committees.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Avenue, Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Monday at 9:30am at Our Lady of the Holy Angels Church, 465 Main St., Little Falls, NJ. Guests may arrive at the funeral home at 8:30am. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.
