Obituary of Toba Faye D'Amico

Toba Faye D'Amico, 79, of Woodland Park, passed away on October 20, 2018. Toba was born on July 23, 1939 in McCall Creek, Mississippi to the late Hardy and Nova (Smith) Burris. After earning her Master's Degree at the University of Southern Mississippi, Toba began her longer than 30 year career as an elementary school teacher beginning in Meadville, MS, continuing in Passaic, NJ and retiring from the Little Falls School System where she spent the majority of her career.

In her retirement, Toba devoted her time to raising her precious granddaughters, Samantha, Danielle and Julianna D'Amico. She was also a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Pompei Church in Paterson where she was also a CCD teacher. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael G. D'Amico and the cherished mother of Michael J. D'Amico and his wife Catherine. She was the dear sister of Nelda Beam and her husband Carey and Robin Thomas and sister in law to Etta Rooney and the late Maryanne Allen. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 23rd, from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park. A funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday at 9:30am at Our Lady of Pompei Church, 70 Murray Ave., Paterson. Entombment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Our Lady of Pompei Church.
