Obituary of Salvatore M. Toscano
Salvatore M. Toscano, 90, of Paterson, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2019. Salvatore was born in Naples, Italy on August 14, 1928 to the late Antonino and Luisa (Orabona) Toscano. He proudly served as a member of The Carabinieri in Italy. After immigrating to America, he was the owner and operator of Sal's Barbershop in Woodland Park for many years before retiring.
Salvatore met his beloved wife, Sofia (Pacella) in Naples and the two were married in Sorrento in 1959. Sal was the cherished father of Luisa VanEss and her husband Neil, Anthony Toscano and his wife Linda and Joseph Toscano and his wife Jennifer. He was the adored grandfather of Daniel Alcala and his wife Angela, Matthew and Nicole Alcala and Sarah, Joseph, Ava and Emma Toscano and the great grandfather of Mia and Valentina Alcala. He is also survived by his nephew William Moon, Richard Moon and his wife Amy and his niece Elaine Yezo and her husband Mike as well as their families and many other surviving relatives in Italy.
Visitation will be Monday from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park. A funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday at 10am at Our Lady of Pompei Church, 70 Murray Ave., Paterson. Entombment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.
