Obituary of Joyce Cassatly

Joyce Cassatly (nee Nahass), 91, of Paramus, formerly of Jupiter, FL and Paterson, Clifton and North Haledon, passed away on March 12, 2019. Joyce was born in Paterson on June 26, 1927 to the late Fred and Hannah (Gorab) Nahass.

After marrying her beloved husband Joe, Joyce was a loving homemaker for their family. She worked at her husband's business, Harry's Food Service, in Paterson for over 35 years in addition to owning and operating Joyce's Custom Hors d'oeuvres in Allendale, NJ. She also worked as a receptionist for Weight Watchers in Jupiter, FL for 20 years.

She was a former member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Little Falls, St. Ignatius Antiochian Orthodox Church in Florida, NY and St. Mary's Antiochian Orthodox Church in West Palm Beach, FL where she was also a member of the Ladies' Society. Joyce enjoyed volunteering at the Jupiter Medical Center in Florida along with her husband as well as golfing with him at North Jersey Country Club.

Joyce was the beloved wife of Joe Cassatly for 70 years before his passing in 2017. She was the cherished mother of Joyce Serventi and her late husband George, Karen Braccini and her husband Rick, and Michael Cassatly and his wife Stephanie; the adored grandmother of George, Alicia, Kara, Cheryl, Pamela, Susan, Sarah and Hannah and great grandmother of 14 precious great grandchildren. Joyce was the dear sister of George Nahass and was predeceased by her brother Ronald Nahass and her sisters Alva Haik and Lorraine Boulis. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral service will be offered on Friday at 10:00am at St. Ignatius Antiochian Orthodox Church, 75 North Main Street, Florida, NY. Guests should meet at the church on Friday morning. Burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ.
