Obituary of William Lewis Lawson

William Lewis Lawson, 86, of Totowa, formerly of Paterson, passed away on April 6, 2019. William was born in Passaic, NJ on December 14, 1932 to the late Fred Lawson, Sr. and Alice Hooks. William proudly served the country as a member of the Marine Corps from 1951 to 1954 when he was honorably discharged. Before retiring, William spend many years as a bus driver, most recently for Community Coach in Passaic.

He was the beloved significant other of Susan Abrams for over 55 years. He was the cherished father of Sharron Abrams (Tislam), the treasured grandfather of Shanequa Wilkerson, Jasmine Eaton and Donalia Jones and the much loved uncle of Fawn, Yaviana, Jordan, Brandon, Dwan, Qushonda and Cassandra. He is also survived by his brother Alexander Abrams, Sr. and his sister Muriel Collins, Goddaughter Audrey Boyer, close cousin Janice Turner, grand nephew Zephaniah and grandnieces Ava and Rieley and many other extended family and close friends who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 16th from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. Immediately following visiation, burial will take place at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
