Obituary of Carmela Aquino

Carmela Aquino, (nee Romei), 100, of Wayne, formerly of Paterson, passed away on August 21, 2013. Carmela was born in Italy to the late Donato and Angelina Romei. She was a loving homemaker for her family. She was also a parishioner at Our Lady of Pompeii Church in Paterson where she was a member of the Seniors Club. Carmela was the beloved wife of the late Pelegrino. She was the cherished mother of the late Agostino "Gus" Aquino and his late wife Nelde, Dan Aquino and his late wife Katie, the late William Aquino and his wife Olga, Joseph Aquino and his wife Josephine and Russell Aquino and his wife Linda. She was the adored grandmother of 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She was the dear sister of Olga Cimminello, Minnie Giaquinto and the late Anthony Romei and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Monday at 9:30am at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 70 Murray Ave., Paterson, NJ. Guests may arrive at the funeral home at 8:30am. Burial will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
