I love you.
You have helped me and I always tried to help you.
We had gone through many things during the ten years we are together and we always stayed together until the end.
Now you are with your grandparents of whom you have always spoken so lovingly.
Also, hopefully now, your pain has finally stopped.
I will always love you Cheryl and you left much too early.
Goodbye my darling.
Sleep in eternal peace.

Dear Cheryl,
You were my best friend and "sister" for many years. We had a lot of fun, laughs & adventures together. In many aspects, we were opposites - you were quieter & shy, I was louder, mouthier and had an attitude, you were tall, I was & still am short, you were pale & blonde & I'm not, etc etc but somehow we fit as friends.
And when times had us go our separate ways, we always came back to each other and picked up where we left off. I was in your wedding, you were supposed to be my matron of honor, but had to drop out due to complications with your pregnancy. You asked me to be Danielle's godmother and I asked you to be my son Matthew's. I spent so many holidays with you & your family and my kids, we always went up by you for dessert.
I remember so many things about the past 36 years, but these 3 things mean the most - I called you the day my mother was dying. You were in the hospital with Danielle. But you came (I didn't ask you to) to my mother's to say goodbye to her and to support me. Then, about a month later, you came up to Scranton for our reunion and in the bookstore you found a plaque with a lighthouse on it and an inspirational saying. I still remember the freaked out look on your face, like you saw a ghost. You bought the plaque for me, as we both felt it was a sign from my mother. A lighthouse in Scranton, who would have believed it. I still have it.
Lastly, I remember a year later, after my father died and I had just had my daughter. We sold the house and I had to get all the stuff out of it. I had had a C section and was not supposed to be lifting & cleaning. You and your mom came down with your kids to help me.
I keep remembering other things too - like how you'd say in a squeaky voice "but I love you Marybeth" and I'd be like "yeah yeah I love you too". You knew I hated to be mushy & sentimental.
Now you're gone, off to a better place. I hope you can watch over all of us, especially your family & your daughters. I hope God holds you in the palm of his hand, keeping you safe & happy until our paths cross again and we pick up where we left off, like we always did. Until then, I will carry you & our memories close to my heart. Farewell my friend, my sister. Love, Marybeth
