Obituary of Maria Iurato

Maria Iurato (nee Pelligra), 81, of Wayne, formerly of Paterson, passed away on September 1, 2013. Maria was born in Sicily, Italy to the late Giovanni and Giuseppina Pelligra. After immigrating to America, she worked for many years as a seamstress. Maria was the beloved wife of the late Giovanni Iurato (2010), the cherished mother of Tony Iurato and his wife Jeanette and the adored grandmother of Miranda and Giovanni. She is the dear Godmother of Rosemarie Sarnecky. She was predeceased by 3 brothers and 3 sisters and is survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Friday at 9:30am at St. James of the Marches Church, 410 Totowa Rd., Totowa, NJ. Guests may arrive at the funeral home at 8:30am. Entombment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
