Obituary of William Bevilacqua

William "Bevi" Bevilacqua, 98, of Woodland Park, formerly of Hawthorne, passed away on August 20, 2019. William was born in Bronx, NY on June 14, 1921 to the late Mary and Anthony Bevilacqua. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during WWII and later joined fellow veterans as a member of the American Legion. He worked for many years as a telephone repairman for NJ Bell Telephone and enjoyed working as a crossing guard in Hawthorne after retiring.

William was predeceased by his beloved wife Adeline (Appaluccio) Bevilacqua in 1996. He was the treasured father of Anthony Bevilacqua, Sr. and his wife Sandra, Patricia Gelb and her husband David, Marie Bevilacqua and William Bevilacqua, Sr. He was the adored grandfather of Anthony Bevilacqua, Jr., Jason Gelb and Brandon Bevilacqua. In addition to his wife, William was also predeceased by two brothers and one sister. He was much loved by his family and will be sorely missed by them all.

Visitation will be Friday, August 23rd from 4:00-8:00pm at Santangelo Funeral home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park. A funeral service will be offered on Saturday, August 24th at 10:00am at Santangelo Funeral Home. Guests may arrive at the funeral home at 9:00am. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.
