Obituary of Columbia G. Battersby

Columbia G. Battersby (nee D'Alesandro), 68, of Paterson, passed away in her home on September 2, 2019. She was born in Paterson, NJ on July 12, 1951 to the late Luciano and Concetta (Casbaro) D'Alesandro. Columbia was a loving homemaker to her family and an avid New York Yankees Fan.

She was the beloved wife of Robert Battersby, the cherished mother of Yvonne Torres and her fiance David Garcia, Cari Cotter and her husband John and Coleen Battersby and her fiance Pedro Cardoso, the treasured grandmother of Anthony and Jalynn Torres and Caitlyn and Joanna Cotter and Michael Stewart and the great grandmother of Lana Torres. Columbia is also survived by her brother Enrico D'Alesandro and his wife Maria, her niece Kailey D'Alesandro and her nephews Joshua and Justin D'Alesandro. She was predeceased by her brother Luciano D'Alesandro.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 5th from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park. A funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, September 6th at 10am at St. Gerard Majella Church, 301 W. Broadway, Paterson. Guests may arrive at Santangelo Funeral Home at 9am. Cremation will be private by the request of the family.
