Obituary of Joseph Capalbo

Joseph Capalbo, 80, of Woodland Park, passed away in his home on November 13, 2019. Joseph was born on July 18, 1939 to the late Gienozzo and Rosa (Gencarelli) Capalbo. After working at Nesor Alloy Factory in Caldwell and various other jobs, Joseph most recently enjoyed his time working at his son's restaurant, Gienozzo's Deli in Woodland Park. He was also a parishioner at Our Lady of Pompeii Church in Paterson.

Joseph was the beloved husband of the late Assunta Gencarelli Capalbo until her passing in 2016. He was the adored father of Roseanna Harrison and her husband Norman and Gino Capalbo and his wife Raffaella and the cherished grandfather of Melissa, Jennifer, and Lauren Harrison and Joseph, Dominick, Gino and Carmine Capalbo. He was the dear brother of Assunta Gencarelli and her husband Frank, the brother in law of Frank Gencarelli and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Joseph was predeceased by his sister Carmela Perri and her husband Santo and his sister Nunziata "Nancy" Gencarelli earlier this year.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday at 9:30am at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 70 Murray Ave., Paterson. Guests may arrive at the funeral home at 8:30am. Entombment at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa.
