Obituary of Anthony "Tony" Trapanese

Anthony "Tony" Trapanese, 71, of Woodland Park, passed away on February 18, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. Tony was born and raised in Paterson, NJ to Rose (DeLeo) and the late Alphonse Trapanese and was the son-in-law to the late Sam “Santo“ and Jean (Casbarro) Zisa.  He graduated from Passaic County Technical and Vocational High School in 1965.  He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1968-1970.  Tony owned and operated A & S Electric Contracting Co., Inc. for more than 40 years. He was also a former president and active member of the Passaic County Electrical Contractors Association and was a devoted parishioner at Our Lady of Pompei Church in Paterson. 

Tony was the cherished husband of Sandra "Sandy" (Zisa) Trapanese for over 48 years. He was the adored father of Sheryl Pellegrino and her husband Frank, Sharon Tappen and her husband Chuck, and Anthony Trapanese and his wife Debbie. Tony was the adored grandfather of Gianna, Frankie and Anthony Pellegrino, Gabriella and Chuckie Tappen and Gianna, Anthony, Dominic and Angelina Trapanese. He is also survived by his mother, Rose Trapanese, his brother Alphonse Trapanese and his wife Tammy, his sister Lorraine Calabrese and her husband Pete, his sister-in-law, Patricia Zisa, as well as, many nieces and nephews.  He was a dear friend to many and loved by all who knew him. 

Visitation will be Friday, February 21st from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park. A funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, February 22nd at 10:00am at Our Lady of Pompei Church, 70 Murray Ave., Paterson. Guests may arrive at Santangelo Funeral Home at 9:00am. Entombment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.
