Obituary of James T. Wittig
James T. Wittig, 89, of Woodland Park, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family. James was born on December 22, 1930 in Paterson, NJ to the late Harold and Alice (Mulhearn) Wittig. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955. James earned his Master's Degree in Business Administration and retired as the Director of Manufacturing for Pharmacia in Fairfield. He was also an active member of the Democratic Club of West Paterson/Woodland Park, a member of the Toast Masters International and of APICS.
James was married to his beloved wife Jean (Walls) Wittig for more than 62 years. He was the adored father of James Wittig, Jr. and his wife Debra, Joan Pirritano and her husband Ralph, Jennifer Broers and her husband Richard and the late Janice Wittig. He was the cherished grandfather of James Arthur Wittig, Mackenzie Wittig, Lauren Rose and Emily Jean Pirritano and Erin Hope and Riley Mae Broers. He was the much loved brother of Richard Wittig and his wife Doreen, Jack Wittig and his wife Gloria, Jerry Wittig and his wife Nancy and Joan Pitrizio. James is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 3rd from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral service will be offered on Wednesday, March 4th at 10:30am at Santangelo Funeral Home. Guests may begin to arrive at the funeral home at 9:30am. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.
