Obituary of Salvatore Leggio
Salvatore Leggio, 84, passed away on April 9, 2020. Salvatore was born in Paterson on February 25, 1936 to Paul and Josephine Leggio and grew up in the Stony Rd Section of Paterson on 21st Ave and Chestnut Street. He was a proud member of the United States Army and served as a medic in Korea. He began his career as a truck driver and worked at Brewster Dye House until becoming a dispatcher for the Passaic County Road Department. After retiring, his free spirited nature was able to shine. He saw the good in every situation and never missed an opportunity to make friends with a stranger. He enjoyed bus trips to AC and Yonkers, vacationing at the Jersey Shore, walking around Willowbrook mall, and doing crossword puzzle scratch offs. He was a fan of the golden oldies, old time western movies, and the New York Yankees.
Salvatore is survived by wife Marlene Mastrogiovanni Leggio. He was a beloved father to Debra and son-in-law Carmine Agostinelli, Donna and husband Mark Cardillo, Diana and late husband Todd Kayal. He was a cherished pop pop to Amber, Nickolas, Maria, Joshua, Angela and Brooke; and great grandfather to Noah. He is also survived by many cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Due to the COVID-19 mandate, all services will be private and a memorial Mass will be planned at a later date.
