Obituary of George M Britt

George M. Britt, 83, of Woodland Park, formerly of Totowa, passed away on October 8, 2013 surrounded by his family. George was born in Paterson on January 9, 1930 to the late George and Josephine Britt. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Army from 1951-1953. He later worked for Foley, Inc. in Parsippany and then retired from Case Equipment in Totowa. George was also a member of the American Legion Post #238 in Woodland Park. George was the beloved husband of Alice (nee Fracalossy) for 45 years. He was the loving father of Patrick Hamill and his wife Dolores and Theresa (Hamill-Giliberti) Zawadzki and her husband Matthew. He was the adored grandfather of Thomas and Stephen Giliberti. George is also survived by his sister Gladys Warren, his aunt Eleanor Carrol, sister-in-law Dorothy Dipsey and brother-in-law Henry Fracalossy as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park. A funeral service will be offered on Saturday at 10am at Santangelo Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
