Obituary of Miriana Kalyoussef

Miriana Kalyoussef (nee Sabbagh), 93, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday May 12, 2020. She was born in Antioch, Turkey on September 14, 1926 to the late Mikhail and Nasra Sabbagh. Miriana was an adored mother and loving homemaker to her family who will miss her deeply. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Esper, her cherished sons Jack and Michael, her brothers Joseph and Alfred Sabbagh and sister Eva Baaklini.

Miriana is survived by her son Joseph (Julia) Kalyoussef, and her daughters Amal (Pierre) Kalyoussef and Zouka (Michael) Sabbagh. She was the cherished grandmother to Joseph, Nicole, Jack, Linda, Andrew, Aldo, Robert and Spero and great-grandmother to Rose, Sophie, Sebastian and Elodie. Miriana is also survived by her brother Antoine Sabbagh, her sisters Antoinette Kebeh and Norma Zarifgil as well as many nieces and nephews.

Anyone who met Miriana or more lovingly known as "Mary", was always received with open arms and a smile and was instantly considered a part of her family. She had a big heart and an infectious laugh. Even though she had a language barrier it never stopped her from engaging and making friends. Miriana was a devoted member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Little Falls, NJ.

Due the restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic, all services are private at this time. Burial will take place at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
