It's been a while and I usually don't do this but David was not just a resident to me, he was a friend. I can remember so many nights when David would come down and keep me company. Whether I was working in the Main Lobby or all the way in the back of the building he would come by, even if it was for a few moments. Then there were those other nights when we would just sit and talk about cars, or watch old boxing fights on You Tube or listen to Elton John. I remember I would always end those nights by saying to him, " Now remember Dave, its your job to figure out what were watching tomorrow night". In true David fashion he would always say, "you got it bad guy". Working in a place like Preakness you try not to get too close to the residents because you see way too many of them taken too soon. For me, my friend David was taken way too soon. All I can say now is how sorry I am for you, his family. I will always miss my friend David and I will always think of him whenever I hear Elton John.
Rest in peace "bad guy".
Your Friend,
Omar
