Obituary of Marilyn McKeown
Marilyn McKeown (nee Temesko), of Garfield, passed away on December 8, 2020 four days after her 76th birthday. Marilyn was born in Passaic to the late Michael and Julia (Semancik) Temesko. Before retiring, she worked for many years at the Bergen County Surrogate's Court in Hackensack as a will probate.
Marilyn was the beloved wife of the late Joseph McKeown (1999). She was the adored mother of Robert "Bobby" and his wife Stefanie Muttor-Smolinski and the treasured grandmother of Elizabeth and Jamison Smolinski.
In her spare time, Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her close friends and family, especially dining out often. She could have been considered a "foodie" before that was known as a trendy term. She also loved sports, especially rooting for the Green Bay Packers. Marilyn enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City and other gambling destinations as well as joining travel groups to various destinations near and far.
Known affectionately as "cat lady", Marilyn loved all animals but especially her cats. She will always be remembered by her strong personality, always knowing how she wanted things to be done and hating any change. She showed great care and compassion for others, always offering loving advice to family and friends.
