Obituary of Anthony J. Galietti
Anthony J. Galietti, "Tony", 59, of Woodland Park, passed away on January 2, 2021. Tony was born in Paterson on December 1, 1961 to Anthony Carmen Galietti and the late Ann "Chickie" (Burns) Galietti. Tony proudly served as the Woodland Park Chief of Police for over 9 years until his retirement. He was also a dedicated member of the International Police Chief’s Association, Passaic County Chief’s Association, and served on the Executive Board of the NJ Honor Legion.
Tony was the beloved husband of Regina "Gina" (Fath) Galietti. He was the adored father of Andrea Walsh and her husband Tim and Danielle, Anthony, Michael and Matthew Galietti and his stepchildren Melissa and Austin Tighe. He was also the cherished grandfather of Piper Rose Walsh. Tony is survived by his father, Anthony, his sisters Karen Rocco and Ann Galietti and her husband Angelo Zafarino, his brother Frank Galietti and his wife Leticia Goff and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 5th, 2021 from 4:00-8:00pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 6th at Santangelo Funeral Home at 10:30am. Entombment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations for Tony may be sent to the American Cancer Society or to the Hackensack University Medical Center-John Theurer Cancer Center.
Due to the COVID-19 state mandate, a maximum of 50 individuals are permitted in the funeral home at one time. A face covering must be worn by everyone in attendance at all times. In addition, please follow social distancing guidelines. Thank you for your compliance and understanding.
