Obituary of Nora C. Leyton

Nora Leyton (nee Nunez), 68, of Newton, passed away on January 10, 2021. She was born in Cali, Colombia on September 25, 1952 to the late Julian Nunez and Nora Borona and immigrated from Colombia to the United States in 1978.

Nora was currently working as a fabrication technician at Thor Labs where she had been for 11 years and she was dearly loved by her co-workers.

She will be remembered as a selfless and loving person who made everyone she met feel like family. She was extremely hard working and dedicated to her sons and all those who she loved. She adored her granddaughter Ariana and loved spending time surrounded by all her friends and family. Nora was also known as an excellent cook who showed her love for others through her cooking. 

Nora was the beloved mother of Paul Leyton and Bryan Leyton and his wife Jennifer, the cherished grandmother of Ariana Leyton and the dear sister of Oscar Nunez. Nora shared her life with Armando Salamanca for 30 years. She will also be missed by his children Margarita Marucci and her husband Chris and Vivian Restrepo and her husband Edison as well as their children Mia, Max and Nico Marucci and Valentina and Gabriel Restrepo.

Memorial visitation for Nora will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from 10:00am-12:00pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park. A prayer service will begin at 12:00pm at Santangelo Funeral Home and the burial of cremains will follow with a graveside prayer at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa. 

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to the child rescue coalition.
