Obituary of Jose Aguilera

Jose "Pepe" Aguilera Moreno was born November 7,1942 in Tabernas, Spain. He immigrated to New York City in the early 1960's. Pepe passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home in Woodland Park on February 10, 2021.

He is survived by his loving wife Ines, brothers Francisco and Rafael, children Iliana, Jose, Alejandra, and Daniel; grandchildren Christine, Alexander, and Joseph and great-granddaughter Sophia.

Pepe had a lifetime career as a professional painter in a union and then in family enterprise until his passing. Pepe loved his family, soccer, flamenco, good food, and wine. On a Saturday, you would find him watching Barcelona FC games with his biggest fans. He often told stories that made you laugh until you cried. Those who knew him will always remember him. He lived life how he loved it - to the fullest. 

Visitation will be Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 2:00-6:00pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Avenue, Woodland Park, NJ. Cremation will be private by the request of the family.

Due to the COVID-19 state mandate, a maximum of 75 individuals are permitted in the funeral home at one time. A face covering must be worn by everyone in attendance at all times. In addition, please follow social distancing guidelines. Thank you for your compliance and understanding.
