Obituary of Rocco Prestia
Rocco Prestia, 84, of Woodland Park, passed away in Florida on April 7, 2021. Rocco was born in Gioiosa Ionica, Italy, on January 8, 1937, to the late Francesco and Rosina (Caracciolo) Prestia. He was a tailor at Frank Fava Custom Tailor in Totowa for many years until his retirement. After retiring, Rocco enjoyed gardening and spending time enjoying the sunshine and sea at the Jersey Shore and in Florida.
Rocco was the beloved husband of Antoinette (Calabrese) Prestia; the adored father of Frank Prestia (wife Molly) and Peter Prestia; and the treasured grandfather of Christopher, Neena, and Dianah Prestia. Rocco was predeceased by two brothers and one sister. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Dina and Maria Prestia and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 15th from 4:00 - 7:00pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park. A funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, April 16th at 10:00am at Our Lady of Pompei Church in Paterson. Entombment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa.
