Obituary of Josephine T. Hartley

Josephine T. Hartley (nee Samuel), 92, of Woodland Park, passed away at home on September 16, 2021. She was born in NYC, NY on October 31, 1928 to the late Arthur Henry and Margarita Doloretta Samuel. Before retiring, Josephine worked at New Jersey Bell Telephone and Sears as a switchboard operator. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and traveling domestically and internationally including trips to S. Korea and Switzerland. She was an animal and pet lover and leaves before her beloved cat Fifi.

Josephine was predeceased by her beloved husband William Robert Hartley in 1990. She was the adored mother of Robert William Hartley (wife Mouna), Arthur Hartley (wife Lesley), Diane Semeraro (husband Michael, Jr.), and James Hartley (wife Debra). She was the adored grandmother of Maya and Robert Hartley, Michael Semeraro, III, Laura, Chelsea and Julia Semeraro. She will also be dearly missed by her treasured life long friends Natalie Blair and Sarah Zschoche with whom she shared many wonderful memories and travel adventures.

Visitation will be Monday, September 20, 2021 from 5:00-9:00pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 9:00am at St. Bonaventure Church, 174 Ramsey St., Paterson, NJ. Burial will follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clifton.
