Obituary of Cosmo F. D'Ovidio
Heaven gained an Angel on Saturday, October 9, 2021. Cosmo Frank D’Ovidio, of Totowa, NJ left this world, surrounded by his family, to live in Heaven with our Lord. He was born and raised in Paterson, NJ and lived in Woodland Park before moving to Totowa in 1999. Cosmo started his working career as a Purchasing Manager in Carlstadt, NJ and later co-owned Metalcraft Machine Products in Jamaica, New York. Upon leaving, he started his own local business, C & A Consulting, until his retirement.
Cosmo was a person who was more concerned about others than himself. He was ready and willing to help anyone in any way he could. He served his country as a member of the NJ National Guard and was an active leader with the Boy Scouts of America for many years. He also coached the baseball team for the Boys & Girls Club of Garfield, NJ.
For over 40 years, Cosmo enjoyed playing Santa Claus on Christmas Eve each year and visited many homes of his family and friends, hospitals, and various organizations spreading cheer and happiness to everyone.
Cosmo is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Angela (Zisa) D’Ovidio and their two sons, Frank, and Joseph, of Totowa. He leaves behind his brother, Charles D’Ovidio of Garfield. His parents, Julia (Lamberti) D’Ovidio and Frank D’Ovidio and brother Vincent D’Ovidio predeceased him. Cosmo also leaves behind many caring nieces, nephews, and other family members as well as lifelong friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Pompei Church, 70 Murray Ave., Paterson, NJ.
