Obituary of Agostino Capalbo

Agostino Capalbo, age 92, of Paterson, passed away on September 13, 2012. Agostino was born in Calabria, Italy to the late Giuseppe and Annuziata Capalbo. He served in the Italian Army during WWII. He later worked as a machinist for many years before retiring from Little Falls Metal Works in Paterson. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii Church in Paterson. Agostino was predeceased by his late wife Domenica and was the beloved husband of Valentina Capalbo. He was the adored father of Joseph Capalbo and his wife Anna, Nancy Gencarelli and her husband Joseph and Rosa Turano and her late husband Umile. He was the treasured grandfather of Santo Gencarelli, Agostino Capalbo, Lisa Matragas, Joseph Gencarelli, Peter Turano, Dana Capalbo, and Mark Turano and great grandfather of Joseph Anthony Capalbo, Giana Allesio, Isabella Rose Gencarelli, Luca Wayne Matragas and Domenica Anna Capalbo. He was predeceased by 5 brothers and 1 sister and is survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 7-9pm and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral service will be offered on Monday at 9:30am at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 70 Murray Ave., Paterson. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Paterson.
