Obituary of Giovanna Raso

Giovanna Raso (nee Sallemi), 80, of Paterson, passed away on January 4, 2022. She was born in Santa Croce, Sicily, Italy on October 8, 1941 to the late Giuseppe and Salvatrice (Ferrera) Sallemi. Giovanna immegrated to the United States in 1973 and became a loving homemaker to her family. She also worked as a cook at Tumino Deli and Apple Tree Daycare.

Giovanna was the beloved wife of the late Domenico Raso (2019); she was the cherished mother of Isabel "Sandy" Corsetto and her husband Antonio and Hector "Ed" Raso and his wife Josephine and the adored grandmother of Elisa and Brianna Corsetto and Sofia and John Raso. She is also survived by her brothers William and Rosario Sallemi and sisters Pietra Raso and Maria Mule' , as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be Friday, January 7, 2022 from 4:00-8:00pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park. A funeral service will be offered on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 10:30am at Santangelo Funeral Home. Guests may arrive at 9:30am. Entombment will follow the service at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.
