I thought of the years I have known Harry---Paterson Taxpayers Association; Stiles Lumber; Paterson Library Board--- and our personal discussions which afforded me a particular insight into this wonderful man and his personality. I want to explain why I believe Harry Dente lived the ultimate question of "Man's Search for Meaning."
Viktor Frankl tells us "Ultimately, man should not ask what the meaning of his life is, but rather must recognize that it is HE who is asked, for to life he can only respond by being responsible:" is this Harry? YES!
What about Fromm: "...man must make his life meaningful by living productively." Harry again!
Finally, Abraham Heschel: "...man experiences his life as meaningful...by serving God in everyday life, infusing every moment...and by dedicating himself to ends outside himself." This was truly Harry Dente.
The Daily Word for January 20, 2007 tells us to "...believe the highest and best for 'ourselves' and accept it as 'our' reality."
As Harry makes his transformation from earth to heaven, we expect the "highest and best" for Harry Dente, a great guy.
Prayers to his family and friends from our family. God Bless Harry Dente.
