Obituary of Dominick Fontana
FONTANA, Dominick, 86, of West Paterson, died Wednesday, January 9, 2008. Mr. Fontana was born in Manhattan, New York. He served his country as Fireman First Class of the United States Navy during World War II. He later worked for thirty three years as a letter carrier in the Grand Central Post Office, New York. He was Chaplain of the American Legion Post #238, West Paterson for twenty years. He was also a member of the Cedar Grove Elks. He was a long time parishioner of St. Bonaventure Church, Paterson, NJ. Devoted husband to Irene (nee Mancuso). Cherished father of Patrick and his wife Irene, Frank and his wife Virginia, and Richard and his wife Margaret. Loving grandfather to thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Brother to Santa Oliveri and Samuel Fontana. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be Sunday, January 13, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Avenue, West Paterson, NJ. The funeral mass will be Monday 9:00am at St. Bonaventure Church, Paterson. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, New York 10006 in his memory.
