Obituary of Josephine MacKenzie

MACKENZIE, Josephine (nee Alexander), age 96, of Little Falls passed away peacefully at home with her family present on June 22, 2008. She was born on June 4th, 1912 in Austin, Pennsylvania and moved to Paterson in 1925. She was an accountant for 25 years at Buser Silk Corp., Paterson, NJ where she worked along with her husband, Harold, whom she married in 1938. In 1963, Offray Corp., of Madison Avenue, NYC bought Busers Inventory and asked her to be their accountant. She then worked for Offray for 20 years as Comptroller Assistant until her retirement in 1983 at age 71. Her beloved husband Harold predeceased her in 1995. Also predeceased by brothers Albert, Vito, and Joseph Alexander and sisters Rose DiChellis, Lena Padula, Inez Lewis, and Evelyn Guide. Survived by many loving nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 2-4 and 79 pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Avenue, West Paterson, NJ 07424. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, 10:00 am at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, Paterson. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 70 Murray Avenue, Paterson, NJ 0750 or to Bethlehem Hermitage, 82 Pleasant Hill Road, Chester, NJ 07930 in her memory.
