Obituary of Marion Merlino

Marion Merlino, age 77, of Haledon, passed away March 22, 2009. Marion was born January 27, 1932 in Paterson, NJ to the late Anthony and the late Margaret (Corsetto) Merlino. Before retiring she owned Haledon Spa, a sweet shop in Haledon, NJ. Beloved mother to Marilyn Wylie and her late husband Bruce, Janet Fanning and her husband Michael, James Schumody and Robert Schumody and his significant other Grace Ryan. Cherished grandmother to Bruce Wylie, Danielle Wylie, Anthony DeMarco, Nicholas DeMarco, Joseph DeMarco, Michael DeMarco, James Schumody, Stephanie Schumody, and Robert Schumody and great grandmother to Antonio, Zachary, Carly. Also survived by Aunt Louise, Aunt Esther and Uncle Frank, Uncle Mike and Aunt Mimi and Uncle Dominick and Aunt Eleanor. She was predeceased by her husband, James Schumody, and her brothers, Emory and John Merlino. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 10:00am-11:00am at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Avenue, Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 11:00am. Cremation will be private by the request of the family.
