Obituary of Santiago Rivera

Santiago Rivera, age 87, of Paterson, passed away June 1, 2009. He was born in Puerto Rico to the late Concepcion Rivera and Juana Diaz. He worked as a self employed painter for most of his life. He is the cherished father to Angelina Alicea, Carmen Vasquez, Olga Rivera, Sandra Rivera and Alfredo Rivera. He was predeceased by his two sons, Jorge Alicea and Cristino Rivera. He is the grandfather of 15 grandchildren and the great grandfather of 22 great grandchildren. He was one of 3 brothers and 1 sister. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral mass will be held Saturday 9:00am at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Main Street, Paterson. Guests are to gather at church Saturday morning. Burial will follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
