Obituary of Bernadette Gallo

Bernadette Gallo (nee Methven), age 82, of West Paterson, where she resided for 62 years, passed away December 2, 2009. She was born in Paterson to the late Charles and Nora Methven (nee McGlone). Before retiring she worked as a switchboard operator for Passaic General Hospital. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii Church, Paterson. She was a former member of the West Paterson Fire Co. #1 Ladies Auxiliary and past Captain of the West Paterson First Aid Squad. Beloved wife of Edward Gallo. Cherished mother to Thomas Gallo and his wife Nancy, Patricia Lightner and her husband Kevin, and Bernadette Bargiel and her fiance Larry Zisa. Adored grandmother to Jeffrey Bargiel and his wife Edana, Timothy Bargiel and his fiance Dina Spinelli, Bethanie Sundlin and her husband Rob, Kevin, Eric and Lauren Lightner, Tommy and Nicole Gallo, and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by niece Deborah Schaper and nephews Leo and Chucky Methven. Visitation will be Saturday from 7-9pm and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be Monday at 9:30am at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 70 Murray Avenue, Paterson. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
