Obituary of George Kilgour

George J. Kiljour, age 92, of Paterson, passed away December 7, 2009 at the Fireman's Home in Boonton. Born in Paterson and a lifelong resident, he proudly served in the United States Army Aircorp during World War II. He was a member of the Paterson Fire Department, retiring as a Captain after 32 years of service. George is survived his loving wife, Alice (nee Perillo) of 61 years; daughter Catherine Conerly and her husband Peter of Wayne, son James of West Paterson, daughter Mary Lou Marcell and her husband Frank of Wayne, daughter Susan Zygmunt and her husband Richard of Wayne, daughter Elizabeth Griffin and her husband Jack of Wyckoff. He is the dear grandfather to Christine Hietanen and her husband Sean, Patrick Conerly, Ryan Conerly, Stephanie Zygmunt, Conor Griffin, and Jack Griffin and great grandson Colon Hietanen. He was predeceased by his brother James. Visiting will be Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Avenue, Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be held Friday, 10:15am at St. Bonaventure Church, 74 Ramsey Street, Paterson. Guests may arrive at the funeral home at 9:15am to proceed to church. Burial will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa.
